It's really choppy and suuuuuper scribbly because I took like 30 seconds to draw each frame. Please fill in the gaps and gloss over the art with your wonderful imagination! I made it in Windows Movie Maker which is an absolutely evil program =o=

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

update - pic link of Hammond our sicky kitty

Our oldest cat, Hammond, a ginger boy who wandered into our garden about 7 years ago after his human mummy apparently died of cancer, is spending his 4th day in vet hospital. He has had a nasty abscess lanced and now there's an enormous open wound on his hind leg. At our suggestion we had him tested and he's positive for borderline renal failure

He'll be put onto a very expensive special diet *sigh* but I hope he'll pull through and enjoy some more years with us

I'm so *proud* of my wonderful daughter Laura - please support her gallery: [link]

She is currently writing her final high school exams and last week was awarded the art prize for her grade as well as the Senior Art floating trophy. No doubt she will cringe with embarrassment that I'm writing this here, but - ah well - *goofy smile goes here*
