On Wednesday the 19th my daughter and I had an enjoyable Christmas luncheon with my 94-year old mother in her Frail Care facility. It was not nearly as depressing as I had feared it might be! and we all enjoyed the meal and being together. A friend had given me a CD of German christmas carols sung by the Vienna state opera choir, and I took along tiny speakers and played these for her back in her room, and she sang along, remembering every word of every song! (but she won't remember today that this happened last week...)
After leaving her, we paid a visit to the Animal Rescue Shelter where I volunteer and take many photos of their to-be-homed cats. I have been there countless times and although there are always lots of adorable cats with heartbreaking background stories, I have always stayed strong and not given in to the very big temptation of taking any home.
BUT on that day last week on our way out we walked past a cage of newly brought in kittens: 3 snow-white litter mates... and when Laura pointed out the fluffy odd-eyed one, I simply melted on the spot and cried "I want it I want it" - and so we began adoption proceedings for this tiny little baby, and on Sunday 23 December we collected him, just in time for Christmas!
At the moment we're keeping him quarantined and separated from our other fluffy family members (5 cats) and are hoping to introduce him slowly. He started off with somewhat gummy eyes, which now look clear, but what's worrying me is his strange raspy cough. Being holiday time, it's been difficult getting to a vet, but we hope to have him seen and sorted soon.
Oh! and we've named him Ziggy Stardust for David Bowie, who also has different colour eyes
- officially that's called Heterochromia Iridium. We think Ziggy looks like a Turkish Angora

thanks for liking Ziggy our kitten.
When we adopted Chloe and Tinkerbell, they were both sickly. Both were on antibiotics. The reason why I am telling you this is because Tinkerbell also had a horrible cough. They X-rayed her little lungs and said that she wasn't as bad as she sounded. We rented a nebulizer and gave her breathing treatments twice a day until the cough went away. She hasn't had that cough since, thank goodness. But we do talk about her beginning from time to time.
Here she is getting a breathing treatment: [link]

I'm still thoroughly thrilled that you have him! He's sooo special, but then you know that in any case!
I quite know what you mean by cat-like name, haha
