Ah yes, I was wondering when you'd set you sight on this :P
*strokes D70s to comfort it*

Ahhh haa haa; drooling and turning into reality are two VERY different beasts, aren't they :-)

Canon may be faster pushing out new cameras, but Nikon tend to do it properly! I'm very glad I waited for the D200 and that I didn't sell my stuff to get a Canon 20D ;)

 yes indeed

Are you happy with your D200? It's a heavy beast, isn't it!

Do you still use your D100? I currently shoot the D80 but take along the D70s as 2nd body on shoots.

No, I sold the D100. I didn't use it at all, hehe :)

Oh, ok. So you basically have one camera body now - no 'back-up' camera? I try to avoid changing lenses too often, especially if I am out on a shoot - and in a cat environment, there are always fluffy hairs about *shudder* that I try to keep off the dreaded sensor! It's heavier to cart around, but also gives me a faster change-over time from one focal length to another.

I did put the D70s on the market for a month but I think the resale value of equipment once an upgrade is on the market is very limited, and you never seem to recover the money you paid for it, so it's worth more to me hanging on to it rather than selling it for a quarter of its value.

Hehe, the way the dSLR market is going right now, you won't get much back at all when you re-sell it. I too try and avoid changing lenses too often. But when I do, I make sure I do it quickly and in an environment without too much hair and dust. ;) .. No backup camera, no. Well, unless you count my Canon S45 point'n'shoot camera. :P

Absolutely sad but true. With every new announcement and upgrade, the previous version is reduced in value, even if it still produces excellent images.
