MyPod Love <=> Hate Relationship

Sun May 27, 2007, 9:53 PM
:star: joining the masses :star:

So I finally caved in to peer pressure and bought an iPod.  Not just ANY... but a 30-gig video poddy, all cute and shiny.  Went and bought a pack of three interchangeable rubberised sleeping bags for it - currently it's dressed in pale translucent pink - very becoming!  There's also pale blue and white.  Their time will come.

But ... all is not well!  I obviously have un-ergonomic ears but those dinky little ear-plug thingies remain happily in my right ear only, and constantly pop out of my left ear.  I have tried different brands of ear plugs, all to no avail.  The one on my right will stay put for one hour while I'm out walking, but the one on the left will need readjusting every 30 seconds.

Do any of you have a similar situation?  WHAT DO YOU DO?

I think I'll have to go about looking like a Mars Attacks extra and wear my Sennheiser full ear wrap-arounds.  And then a beanie on top of that :-)

Now for the daunting task of selecting playlists!  Having been a deejay in what now seems like a previous life, I have a super collection of around 3,000 CD's full of great music.  It's just such a jolly job interfacing the whole thing with iTunes.  It all takes hours and hours of what could be photo-time :camera:

YAY :dance: we'll form a club of dysfunctional ears or something :-) Haha. Well, at least I feel glad to know I'm not the only one... do you use big headphones then?

we should!! I recently got some new ear thingies but they're small... i feel weird wearing the big ones cuz i've seen myself wearing them and i look funny :-| however, i think the big ones are sooooo much more efficiant (my new little ones stay in pretty well)

Even if they stay in well, the little ones lose bass and allow in all sorts of noise 'bleed' from external sources. I still much prefer my big Sennheisers, and who cares if it looks funny :-) :dance:

yeah... i sould get some big ones... like the HUGE ones from the 80's, like what my bother uses.... they're a lot better

They actually are - as far as sound quality goes. They not only wrap around, but they press on firmly, allowing no unwanted noise to bleed through and you get full bass response ---- aaah! bliss :-)

I have the same problem but with both ears specially when I lay on bed and listen to music. I do not have an iPod, but I listen to music stored in my SonyEricsson Walkman mobile phone ._.

Have a nice week!

I'm so relieved to hear I'm not the only one, then!!! If you're at home, you may as well use big headphones; the bass response is just so much better and they'll stay put :-)
