SORRY, but I just have to vent.
I was booked to do a cat shoot about 2 weeks ago. In my confirmation e-mail I attached my Terms & Conditions document, which is to be signed upon my arrival before I start shooting.
I've very recently had this drawn up with the help and legal expertise of an Intellectual Property lawyer.
Paragraph 3 states : "The Client assures the Photographer that all cats / pets are in good health and free from any communicable diseases".
Long story short - I confirm the shoot yesterday, all okay and go ahead. Arrive there early this morning, spread out my blanket as backdrop on the couch, haul out all my gear, ask for the form to be signed - all gets done. Then along comes a SNEEZING kitten. Oh, says the owner, yes... they have *SNUFFLES*. Highly f*ing contagious nasty cat plague, that I certainly don't want to drag home to my 6 cats.
I've had to decontaminate by stopping off at my studio and getting changed into clean clothes after a bath & hairwash; put the blanket and all clothes into a hot machine wash and going to the vet for a complete spray down with Virkon; my handbag, cell phone, camera bags, straps and ALL. Paranoid? Rather safe than sorry.
Anyway - tomorrow is Kira (our electrocuted miracle kitten)'s first birthday

Happy Birthday Kiska !
